I am Deadpool, I reblog what I want, comment on what I want, and do random, sometimes unnecessary things. Merc With a Mouth, I talk a lot...Like seriously A LOT. ....Ok? Cool? If not, I dont care. Where the fuck is my movie?!
The Star Wars prequels are often derided for their horribleness. One thing I don’t see mentioned enough about the prequels- and what is perhaps the most insulting thing about them- is how they completely destroy the character of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and his arc from the originals. Luke believes Anakin to not be inherently evil but is just being manipulated and used by The Emperor. Eventually Anakin does prove that he is not evil when he saves Luke and aids the Rebellion by killing The Emperor and bringing The Force back into balance. It’s kind of hard to believe that Anakin isn’t evil when in the prequels he whines constantly, usurps his superiors at every opportunity, chokes and later indirectly kills his wife and the mother of his children, massacres an entire village, voices support for fascism, and executes about a dozen children.
It was his fear of loss that propel this once sweet, innocent child into the grasp of the Dark Side, it was fully explained for those with an open mind that fully watch watched the prequels.
He lost his mother to the Sand People and allowed that moment to be a catalyst for his downfall, his spiral into hate, anger and fear, he lost his way and allowed the fear of lost to torment and change him. If you dont get that then I dont know what to tell you.
