Landorus (abundance), Tornadus (cyclone), and Thundurus (bolt) are based on kami in Japanese mythology: Inari (fertility), Fujin (wind), and Raijin (thunder). Likewise, they may be thought of as representing different domains of the world; Landorus represents earth, Tornadus the heavens, and Thundurus a transitional state between both.
